Unable to cast COM object of type ‘Excel.ApplicationClass’ to ‘Excel.Application’

I was using Microsoft Excel 2013 in my local machine and later I installed Excel 2016 on top of it. And one day I decided to free up my memory by deleting the Excel 2013. Suddenly I was getting the following Cast Expression.

Unable to case COM object of type ‘Microsoft.Office.Inerop.Excel.ApplicationClass’

There are many ways to fix this, I will discuss two ways

  1. Install a registry cleaner (Like CCleaner) which is easy and free.
  2. Follow the below steps
  3. Open Run and type regedit

  4. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT–>TypeLib–>{00020813-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}(Delete this)

Message if you are unable do it. 🙂
